Email: jack@liebauasset.com Jack Liebau is the President and portfolio manager of Liebau Asset Management Company. Mr. Liebau has more than twenty years of experience in the investment management industry with The Capital Group and Primecap Management Company. Mr. Liebau served as one of four managers of the Vanguard Primecap and the Vanguard Capital Opportunity Funds, both of which have received Morningstar’s top five-star rating. As a partner and portfolio manager at Primecap, Mr. Liebau managed more than $1.7 billion in assets. He was solely responsible for managing a portion of the portfolios for all Primecap’s clients, which include corporate pensions, foundations, endowments, religious orders and mutual funds. In recognition of his work, Money Magazine featured Mr. Liebau as a manager of one of the best performing mutual funds of the 1990’s. In addition to his investment management responsibilities, Mr. Liebau acted as Primecap’s Director of Compliance, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory and ethical codes, supervising proxy voting, and overseeing other administrative functions. A breeder of thoroughbred horses, Mr. Liebau serves pro bono as a director of the investment committee of the California Thoroughbred Backstretch Emloyees’ pension plan, as well as on the board of the Edwin Gregson Foundation, which provides educational scholarships for the predominantly minority and underprivileged children of racetrack backstretch workers. In addition, he is a director of Kidspace Children's Museum and a current director and former President of the Andover Abbot Association of Southern California. Mr. Liebau is a graduate of Phillips Academy (Andover) and Stanford University (with honors). He has worked at The White House and as special assistant to the publisher of the Los Angeles Times. A third generation Californian, Mr. Liebau and his wife, Carol, live in San Marino, California. |
